Lloyds Banking Group has the highest bill for PPI mis-selling

Recent reports have revealed that Lloyds Banking Group has the highest bill for PPI mis-selling at around £17billon.

Half the same set aside for PPI scandals by the UK’s financial services industry was for Lloyds Banking Group. Costs include not only the compensation for their mis-sold customers, but for other things like extra staff to investigate claims.

The Plevin ruling – a Supreme Court judgment on PPI complaints, has been the most complained about financial product in the UK. Figures from the Financial Ombudsman Service revealed that there were 78,000 complaints in the last six months of 2016. This urged the courts to launch a campaign with a deadline for PPI claims; 29th August 2019.
